Our history
Conquered by the troops of James I in 1244, it was donated to Pedro Arlandis Cortesa in 1258 as it appears in a document signed in Montpelier. In 1687 he was the lordship of Gaspar Bou de Peñarroya, equestrian knight of the Order of Montesa and San Jorge de Alfama. This knight was the one who gave the image of the Virgin of the Helpless, current patron saint of the municipality.
